Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) FAQ

What is MFA?

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) adds an extra layer of security to your G2G account. Every time you sign in, you'll be asked to enter a verification code. You can choose to receive the code via text message or generate it through an authentication app on your phone. Once you enter the code, you'll be securely signed in—with added peace of mind.

Setting Up MFA

  1. Download and install an authentication app
Before setting up MFA, you'll need an authentication app installed on your device. G2G MFA supports most Time-Based One-Time Password (TOTP) apps. Here are some popular options:

    • iPhone: Google Authenticator, Duo Mobile, Authy, 1Password

    • Android: Google Authenticator, Duo Mobile, Authy

    • Windows Phone: Microsoft Authenticator, Duo Mobile

  2. Log in to your G2G account, then go to Settings > Account.

  3. Click on Security.

  4. In the Multi-Factor Authentication section, click to begin setup.

  5. Enter your password and click Next.

  6. Scan the QR code using your authentication app.
Then, enter the 6-digit verification code generated by the app.
Click Activate to complete the process.

Deactivating MFA

  1. Log in to your G2G account and go to Settings > Account.

  2. Click on Security.

  3. Enter the verification code from your authentication app and click Deactivate.

I’m unable to activate MFA. What should I do?

  • Try using Authy for MFA setup. It's available on both the App Store and Google Play Store.
Ensure your device is connected to the internet when using the app.

  • If you're using Google Authenticator, make sure your device's date and time are set to "Set Automatically".
Google Authenticator relies on accurate device time to generate valid codes. Incorrect time settings may cause verification errors.
